Locatrix is privileged to work with many councils, and Scenic Rim Regional Council is one partnership that we have enjoyed for over 13 years.
The Scenic Rim Regional Council is in Queensland, Australia, with its main office in Beaudesert. The council serves a diverse region known for its stunning natural beauty, including national parks, mountains, and rural landscapes.
A fast-developing region predicting high growth, as of June 30, 2024, the population of the Scenic Rim Regional Council area was 46,036 representing a growth of 1.75% from the previous year.
With 26 campuses mapped with PlanStudio for evacuation signs and 1,976 yearly active learners through PlanSafe, Scenic Rim Regional Council is a customer that have been able to teach Locatrix a lot about what is important to Local Government and where to focus our development efforts.
Paul Gillen is the Work Health and Safety Coordinator at Scenic Rim Regional Council. In a recent meeting with Paul, we asked what he liked about Locatrix and he noted that it was a system that you just need to review with building changes and the rest takes care of itself:
"It is a very intuitive system and method of delivering relevant training as well as emergency risk management compliance. The fact that the evacuation diagrams in the building are linked to the online training module with interactive floor plans of our actual buildings is a brilliant concept and one I have not seen previously"
This theory tested recently; a Scenic Rim Site had a routine inspection by Queensland Fire Department who have been consulted heavily by Locatrix in the development of our software applications.
“Pulling all the required information from the Locatrix system was a simple way to meet the relevant audit inspection criteria. QFES as a regulatory body are very familiar with the platform which makes regulatory compliance a breeze"
Ideal for inducting Staff, Contractors and Volunteers for First and General as well as Work Health Safety and Contractor training, Council use PlanSafe for their buildings that see some high-volume occupancy through their doors such as administration buildings, depots, libraries, waste management centres, small animal safety, art galleries and museums, community centres and disaster hubs.
How does it do this? PlanSafe takes the data collected from all PlanStudio digitally created Evacuation Diagrams (the site specific detail) and includes additional information such as exceptional evacuation procedures, operating procedures, Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) information to create site and role specific online training for each and every occupant that requires it. This information can also be fully customized to suit the client’s requirements.
PlanSafe guarantees that learners only receive the training they require to respond in the case of an emergency. Training content made so efficient that it takes just 30 minutes to complete anytime anywhere and includes a quick assessment that the learner is required to complete with results recorded in the PlanSafe Compliance Dashboard.
For their remaining buildings that do not have high volume of human traffic and do not need PlanSafe induction software, PlanStudio is used to create all mandatory evacuation signs which are then shared with emergency services digitally if they should ever be required. This is something that is only available with Locatrix software as it is a free service Locatrix provide emergency services free of charge as part of their Social Promise.
“Supporting Scenic Rim as they experience significant growth is a privilege. We're proud our solutions contribute to the safety and preparedness of this dynamic region”.
Kristopher Brown, Locatrix
Locatrix looks forward to continuing its service to Scenic Rim Regional Council as it continues its expected growth, as it plans for its role in supporting the upcoming Olympic Games in 2032.
