Each day we send our children through school, we hope that they are kept safe, that they make great friends and that they learn what they need to in order to develop into successful young adults, prepared for their chosen future.
What we all assume is that the school buildings themselves are safe to teach in, that the emergency procedures are second nature and that if, in the event of an emergency, teaching staff will work with emergency services and know exactly how to keep all students safe.
Each year a school’s physical lay-out is most likely changed due to changing student population and funding that the school receives and sometimes loses. Demountable buildings are assembled or taken away. If in a high growth area, new facilities may be built. All these changes impact the site layout and as a result, cause necessary changes to a school’s emergency planning methodology.
Philip Sargeson, Safety Advisor for Warwick Christian College, generously shared his thoughts and insights on how PlanStudio is helping to keep staff and students safe across all of the CCM network. Here he explains how the app has had an impact for the better on the design of their fire evacuation diagrams and compliance.
“Since we started using PlanStudio, our fire evacuation procedures have changed drastically, benefiting all colleges within the CCM network. The app's interface is easy to use, simplifying the process of creating, managing, and updating evacuation plans to meet our specific requirements.
PlanStudio's intuitive tools and features have improved the clarity and effectiveness of our evacuation plans. We can now create detailed floor plans, identify evacuation routes, and pinpoint key safety equipment and assembly points with ease. This level of detail has significantly improved our emergency preparedness.
PlanStudio's real-time collaboration capabilities have made communication and coordination among multiple stakeholders, such as faculty, staff, and emergency responders. By ensuring everyone has access to up-to-date evacuation plans, the app has fostered effective teamwork and overall preparedness for fire emergencies.
Moreover, PlanStudio's integration with other emergency management systems has streamlined our emergency response framework across the CCM network, resulting in increased consistency and cohesion in our emergency preparedness efforts.
PlanStudio's successful integration across the CCM network has led to standardized and cohesive emergency response strategies. The app's user-friendly interface, real-time collaboration capabilities, integration with other systems, and mobile compatibility have all contributed to enhancing our institutions' safety and preparedness.
We highly recommend Locatrix's PlanStudio app to any educational institution or organization looking to optimize its fire evacuation plans and overall emergency response strategies. With its powerful features and seamless integration, PlanStudio has proven to be a valuable tool in ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and facilities within the CCM network”.
To date, Locatrix’s partner network has mapped over 74,000,000 sqm of plans. This number is growing by 2.5m sqm per month as more and more of Australian’s fire industry specialists adopt PlanStudio’s technology. This data, is kept current and made available to emergency services as it is needed.
Is your child’s school mapped with PlanStudio? You should ask……
