The February 2025 Fire Safety reforms (enforcable by February 2026) will impact anyone responsible for the management or safety of Class 1b through to class 9 buildings. What is our building classed as?  Here is an easy break down to help you understand.

Class 1B, Class 2 and Class 3 are best described as buildings where people sleep:

Class 4 through to Class 9 are little more detailed in their description - buildings where occupants are working or caring for or responsible for others within:

Come February 2026, Facility Managers responsible for these types of buildings in NSW are going to need to comply to new Fire Safety Regulations which are designed to bring safety standards in line with other Australian States.  One of these requirements is having an Emergency Plan and providing training to your occupants, contractors and staff as to how that plan supports them in an emergency and to educate them on their specific roles in response to an emergency.

PlanSafe is an online site and induction tool that is designed to save time and money and deliver high quality training which is measurable, site and role specific and easy to use.

Unlike costly and difficult to coordinate face to face training methods, PlanSafe training is delivered to your occupants within 30 minutes – anytime, anywhere via mobile device, allowing you to provide every safety instruction required and specific to your building and emergency requirements in a clear, concise and reportable manner.

Thanks to Locatrix’s integration with Emergency Services, your building information is also shared with emergency responders via the ESP providing them with the most up to date information to assist them in managing an emergency should you need them to.
