The eXtensible Locatrix Framework (XLF) is the foundation of Locatrix Communications’ mobile operator solutions. Locatrix/XLF is a hosted service alternative to expensive operator middleware or service delivery platforms. It provides secure, single-point access to key network enablers – including location, messaging, billing, identity and profile – for the provision of multiple value-added services (VAS).

The key features of Locatrix/XLF include:

• Managed application access portal
• Re-usable enabler integration access
• REST and SOAP APIs (with XML and/or JSON response forms)
• Full subscriber privacy management (location, permissible friends etc)
• Integrated business logic (charging, subscriptions)
• Detailed OAM and reporting portal

Mobile operators deploying Locatrix/XLF benefit through the ability to launch multiple user experiences and applications – potentially targeting different demographic segments – without expensive enabler provisioning or engineering integration.

Locatrix Communications is also participating in the GSMA’s OneAPI (Access) initiative, and are committed to providing a OneAPI-compliant layer for XLF, ensuring standards compliance and further reducing support costs.

Significantly, Locatrix/XLF provides operators with a path to delivering VAS applications from a radically different cost structure.  As a CapEx-free solution, Locatrix/XLF can perform much of the requirements of a complex service delivery platform, without internal management, hosting or ongoing engineering costs. This way operators can deploy a variety of VAS to retain subscribers and create market differentiation while maximising ARPU and profits.
