PlaceSnaps^TM is a user-generated mobile content solution from Locatrix Communications. Delivered as an extension to Uandme, PlaceSnaps lets subscribers create, submit and search location-tagged content.

User content is integrated seamlessly within the Uandme user interfaces, allowing for the listing of nearby geo-tagged images and text (”PlaceSnaps”) within mapped or proximity-based searches. Subscribers can elect to forward content to their friends, add their own comments, and search within their extended social network for specific content categories (e.g. restaurant reviews).

Content can be submitted by users as SMS or MMS messages, or uploaded and tagged via a simple web interface. Subscribers in a users social network can receive alerts (SMS) when new content is received, creating data usage and notification event revenue opportunities.

PlaceSnaps allows for specific content items to be reported in case of unsuitability, ensuring subscriber safety from unsuitable contributed content. Administrators can review reported content items as soon as they are flagged by subscribers, and choose to either return to circulation or permanently remove from the content repository.
