Locatrix Friend FinderUandme includes all the features and capabilities of a world-class mobile friend finder. Users can locate their friends, zoom to them on maps, and initiate searches for places to meet. Deployed as a rich, mobile Internet (WAP) experience, Uandme features operator branding flexibility and a rapid deployment cycle, resulting in a fast time to revenue and access by the broadest possible subscriber audience.

Friend finder features of Uandme include:

  • Viral SMS invitation model
  • View location on mobile map
  • Nearby proximity alerts
  • Extensive user-based privacy
  • Rich device-independent UI
  • Optional PlaceSnaps (geo-tagged content) support
  • Branding flexibility
  • Social network integration
  • POI search
  • “Meet me here” by SMS
  • SMS user channel (e.g. “Find mark”)

Uandme also provides an optional rich Web user interface, which supports all the friend finder features and adds family minder capabilities. Friend lists, privacy permissions, and location areas are consistent between all the user experiences (Web, WAP and SMS).

All of the Uandme user interfaces are template driven, provide full international language support, and are wholly customisable by the operator. Branding, colours, themes and logos may be implemented for consistency with operator portal services, and all footers/links are tailored to the operating environment.

As with all Locatrix mobile user experience solutions, Uandme leverages a handset detection system application for delivering optimal mobile experiences in a dynamic WAP environment. Salamander, our device description web service, provides a graphical management interface for working with handset attributes and accepts updates and standardised input from the WURFL open mobile database.

Commercially, Uandme provides support for a flexible array of subscriber charging models. Operators can elect to adopt monthly subscription charging, per-request location charging, or daily/weekly capped charge limits, and optional event notification charging. Pricing for the Uandme service is established in consultation with our partner operators, and may be licensed on a revenue-share or a user-count business model.
