(Re)engage
Mobile users are accessing mobile versions of social networking sites by the millions; traffic to places like m.facebook.com and m.twitter.com is increasing every month. Most mobile operators think this is good news, as social networking drives adoption of mobile Internet. But is this trend necessarily good for them in the longer term?
Locatrix (Re)Engage Workshops began in response to operator enquiries about how they can monetize social networking. Recognizing the dramatic uptake of mobile traffic is one thing, but the trade-off is that subscribers no longer visit operator portals & application stores, minimizing the future potential to generate ARPU from that subscriber.
Delivered in interactive half- and full-dayday seminar formats, (Re)Engage Workshops are designed to support mobile product managers, VAS/content managers and senior-level executives in the social networking paradigm, as applied to mobile network operators. Using examples and service model/use-case evaluations, participants are led through a series of topics including:
- The Social Network Economy
- Subscriber Demographics and Needs
- Different Mobile Social Framework Models and Approaches
- Monetizable Events
- Engaging with Third-party APIs and services
- Monetising Network Enablers
By the conclusion of the workshop, participants are provided with a thorough evaluation of their current consumer social networking strategies, and learn how to augment these strategies to achieve better subscriber engagement through enhancing existing social networks with mobile assets such as billing, messaging, profiling and location.
(Re)Engage Workshops are being offered to mobile network operators in Asia and Europe from May 2009. There is no ongoing commercial obligation from the workshops, just an opportunity to learn and benefit from a fresh strategy for subscriber re-engagement.
