Locatrix Awarded Commercialisation Australia Funding

Locatrix Communications has been named a successful funding recipient in the fifth round of the Commercialisation Australia program. Commercialisation Australia is the Australian Government’s flagship support initiative for Australian entrepreneurs. It is a competitive, merit-based assistance program offering funding and resources to accelerate the business building process for Australian companies, entrepreneurs, researchers and inventors

Announcing the successful applicants, Innovation Minister Senator Kim Carr said he was pleased to help talented researchers and entrepreneurs capitalise on their good ideas.

“Commercialisation Australia is achieving remarkable results for a large and diverse group of Australian companies and entrepreneurs.” Senator Carr said. “The opportunities we are opening will keep Australia powering ahead in the global knowledge economy.”

Locatrix will use the funding to further develop and market the new Locatrix Context Platform, and related mobile application solutions, says CEO Mark White.

“As more and more consumers move to smarter mobile handsets, the opportunity to use those devices to recommend and discover personalised services based on location is enormous”, says Mr White. “Our leadership in this area awards us an opportunity to get ahead in the next generation of technology, and the Commercialisation Australia funding will help us take our innovations to the market faster.”

Based in Brisbane Australia, Locatrix Communications is an award-winning provider of engaging mobile solutions, and counts Telstra as one of its major customers. For more information on Locatrix solutions and services, please contact us.
