Locatrix Team Offsite Event

Gavin's feet
The Locatrix team held an “offsite” event this week at the Toowong Bowls Club. Our Barefoot Bowls afternoon was enjoyed by all – thanks to Sherwin for the photographs, and to Gavin for logistics (and cooking!). Here’s a few photographs.

Watching his ball go into the gutter probably.

Saqib discovered a talent in lawn bowling.

Gavin on the barbie.. how Aussie is that!

Great BBQ by Gavin!

Gavin doing a dance for us. We are not amused.
Mobile World Congress – the Rundown from La Ramblas
G’day from Brisbane, where I’ve returned after the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the GSM Association’s annual conference, exhibition, and ‘economy-defying’ gathering of the entire mobile industry.
Rather than re-hash the news items from the conference itself, I thought we’d devote this month’s newsletter to a rundown on what for us were the top four mobile location topics to emerge last month.

Mobile Internet – Missing Link or Misnomer?
I had the great pleasure this afternoon of participating in a panel during a session at the Mobile Asia Congress, entitled “Mobile Internet – Missing Link or Misnomer”. Mobile in Macau
I’m posting this from the GSMA’s Mobile Asia Congress event in Macau, where I’m speaking on a panel session this Wednesday.
Similar to the MWC in Barcelona each year, the venue threatens to overshadow the conference. We’re at the Venetian Hotel & Casino, on Macau’s Cotai Strip, and the sheer enormity of this structure is an experience to behold. There’s indoor canals (full size) and an indoor facsimile of St Mark’s Square, built around several levels of high-end shopping and, oh, there’s also a casino that’s larger than several football fields.
