MPoll powers Expedition Survey

Exicon, a leading mobile internet and strategy consultancy firm has used MPoll to survey attendees at their recent Expedition event in Hong Kong.

The Expedition is an invitation-only series of boutique events bringing together brands, developers, agencies and service providers to support brands in their understanding of mobile development, content distribution and measurement. Exicon’s MPoll sought attendee evaluation of event venue, speakers and topics, and returned an impressive 40% response rate for Exicon’s Marketing & PR Manager, Sarah Benhacine.

“What really impressed us with MPoll was how quick and easy it was to design the survey and how professional it looked”, said Ms. Benhacine, who was delighted with the feedback she received from delegates. “It was simple for us to get quality feedback about our event and so fast! With 1 click we were able to send the survey to all our attendees during the final session of the day and the responses came rolling in, giving us an overall 40% response rate. I will definitely be using this again for all our events.”

The Locatrix MPoll solution helps mobile network operators – as well as consumer brands, market researchers and event organisers – to improve their customer feedback portfolio and help drive customer satisfaction and net promoter KPIs. There is a public beta available at http://mpoll.me.

SNX: Social Shopfronts for Mobile Operators

Locatrix is really pleased today to unveil Locatrix SNX, a social gateway solution for mobile network operators. SNX lets mobile operators create and monetize social network shopfronts and viral recommendation channels for their value-added services and mobile content.

The following video demonstrates Telstra’s Caller Tones Facebook solution, the first application built using Locatrix SNX.

Based on the extensible Locatrix application framework, SNX-based social applications help mobile operators to promote mobile value added services by encouraging their subscribers to share and make recommendations to their friends.

“SNX Applications can be used to promote or provision any mobile service,” says Andrew Eross, Locatrix Chief Technology Officer. “The solution was designed to help operators open and leverage a fresh channel to their subscribers, turning what is normally a ‘Fan Page’ environment into a service where subscribers can actually engage with and provision their mobile services.”

New SNX applications being developed by Locatrix for our mobile network operator customers include location-based services, mobile payment and also pre-paid fulfillment and management services.

It’s all about engaging subscribers where they already spend time, says Eross. “There’s half a billion Facebook users, and that’s where they spend increasing amounts of time. SNX lets operators engage their subscribers through the social channel, enabling the types of user recommendations that provide viral marketing capabilities. That’s the holy grail of social network marketing, and SNX fulfils this requirement nicely”.

Interested mobile operators can contact Locatrix for additional demonstrations anddiscussions for SNX solutions that best meet their marketing objectives. Facebook users can check out the application here.

Locatrix at Mobile Asia Congress

Locatrix were guests of the GSMA at last week’s Mobile Asia Congress in Hong Kong, providing the OneAPI booth with resources, demonstrations and hands-on assistance to promote the GSMA’s OneAPI initiative to attending mobile operators.

Locatrix Product Analyst Reuben So said that interest in the OneAPI was strong throughout the event, with many operators and developers hearing about it through the WAC announcement, and wanting to hear more.

“We provided demos of our OneAPI-compliant application solutions, as well as our Developer Portal solution right throughout the two-day exhibition,” said So. “There was keen interest from both mobile developers who want to access operator enablers and of course from the operators themselves.”

Locatrix has been an active participant in the GSMA’s OneAPI project since early 2009, and has staged a proof-of-concept portal and OneAPI endpoint service at http://oneapi.locatrix.com throughout 2010.

“Leveraging our solutions is the most cost-effective way a mobile operator can provide OneAPI-compliant developer interfaces,” says Mark White, Locatrix CEO. “We can help mobile operators quickly engage their own developer communities, leveraging the long tail of Web 2.0 innovation in their regions.”
